Oracle to open data center in Kenya

Oracle, a multinational computer technology company known for its database software, cloud computing services, and enterprise software particularly its Oracle Database and cloud applications has announced that it will open a data center in Kenya to cater for the eastern African region market.

According to Sam Steins the Account Cloud Engineer/Director Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Africa, the move will ensure that Oracle taps into the growing market potential in the region.

“We will soon open a data center in Kenya for this region. In Africa, we have our data centers in Johannesburg South Africa and Casablanca Morocco,” said Steins during the “Empowering Innovation: The Digital Edge, where cutting-edge technology meets real-world solutions to redefine the future of business in the digital era workshop held at Serena Kampala Hotel.



The half-day workshop showcased how innovation and technology can transform organizations while featuring industry-leading insights, live demos, and practical use cases designed to help Uganda business people stay ahead of the curve.

Participants, who were drawn from different business environments in Uganda including Banks, Government departments, tour operators and ICT companies, learnt about how to redefine traditional business practices for the digital age.

They also learnt about the transformative power of Oracle Analytics in reshaping user experiences, deep dive into Eclectics' AI chatbot, powered by Oracle Cloud, for seamless customer engagement. 

The Workshop was tailored for forward-thinking leaders and innovators in the financial and business sectors.

Onul Kalayci who was one of the facilitators at the workshop, said Oracle, can help all business people migrate from past service providers with in weeks instead of months with guidance from architecture to go live.

“Reduce your license support costs to zero, accrue $0.25 to $0.35 in rewards for every $1 spent on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure,” said Kalayci.
