Canopy by Hilton Zanzibar The Burj

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced plans to debut its boutique lifestyle brand, Canopy by Hilton in Tanzania with the signing of Canopy by Hilton Zanzibar The Burj, in partnership with CPS Live Limited.

Featuring 162 inviting and sophisticated guest rooms and suites, Canopy by Hilton Zanzibar The Burj will be located in the heart of the Fumba Town and part of a highly innovative and sustainable mixed-use development, ‘BURJ Zanzibar’, which is set to be the tallest hybrid-timber tower in the world.

The ‘Burj Zanzibar’ buildings are developed using engineered timber - which helps to reduce the overall carbon footprint and waste in comparison to conventional construction techniques. The hotel will be located on the podium level of the ‘Burj Zanzibar’ development.

Fumba Town will include several residential and lifestyle amenities such as retail spaces, a sports centre, an amusement and water park, and a school. This latest signing marks Hilton’s re-entry into Tanzania and reiterates our commitment to meeting the diverse travel needs and interests of guests visiting Africa.”

Travellers and locals alike seeking bespoke dining experiences can choose from the hotel’s food and drink outlets, which will include an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby café, a specialty restaurant, and a pool bar.

The hotel also features several meeting rooms up to 1,000-square-metres, an exterior room garden and a pre-function area. Additional leisure and recreation facilities include a fitness centre, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a kids club. Guests will be welcomed by the property’s knowledgeable team who can provide local insight on culturally stimulating things to do in the neighbourhood.

A coveted destination for leisure holidays, Zanzibar also offers a host of cultural experiences including spice tours, dhow cruises, and historical venues such as the Stone Town of Zanzibar, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
